The things you should know without having to ask.
Last updated: November 3, 2026
We are not an insurance agency
Renewal Crew is not an insurance agency, broker, producer, carrier or adjuster. We hold no insurance licence in any state and we are not applying for one. We don't sell insurance, place insurance, bind coverage, quote, advise on policies or handle claims.
We don't give advice
Nothing on this site or in anything we send you is insurance, legal, tax, accounting or financial advice. We don't discuss coverage, carriers, limits, deductibles, premiums or rates — not in an email, not on a call, not in a reply. If you ask us something in that territory, the honest answer is that a licensed agent can answer it and we can't, and that's the answer you'll get.
How we're paid
Licensed insurance agents and agencies pay Renewal Crew a flat fee to arrange an introduction to a business owner who has asked for a second opinion. You are never charged anything.
The fee is for the introduction itself. It is not a commission, it is not a share of anything you buy, and it does not change based on what you decide, what you're quoted or whether you place any business at all. We are not licensed to share commission and we don't.
The agents are independent
An agent paying us does not make them part of Renewal Crew. They are an independent business, responsible for their own licensing, their own advice and their own conduct. We confirm an agent holds a licence in the state they are working in before we introduce anyone to them. Beyond that, what happens in your conversation is between the two of you, and we make no promise about what any agent will do, find or offer.
No savings or pricing claims
We make no claim that you will save money, pay less, or get better terms. We don't know, and neither does anyone who hasn't seen your paperwork. We also never name or compare insurance companies.
Why you got an email from us
If we wrote to you first, we did it because your business is in one of three trades we work in — contracting, trucking or manufacturing — and because business owners in those trades renew policies on a date almost nobody is tracking.
- Where your details came from: public records and commercial business-data sources. Business registrations and licence registries, public directories, and business-contact databases that any company can license. Business contact details, used to contact a business.
- What the email is: a commercial message from Renewal Crew, sent from a real person here, with our postal address in the footer.
- What it isn't: an offer of insurance, a renewal notice, a notice from a government body or a trade association, or a message from your current agent. We're none of those and we never imply we are.
- How to stop it: reply "stop" to the email, or use the form. We act on it the same day and keep the address suppressed afterwards. The law gives us ten business days; we don't use them.
No affiliation with anyone else
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any insurance company, any government body, any state licensing department, or any trade association. If we ever show a trade group's name or logo, it will be because they've given us written permission and it's true.
Testimonials and reviews
We publish none. If that ever changes, anything you see will be from a real person who gave us written permission to use it, it won't be paid for, and it won't be edited into something they didn't say. We don't buy reviews and we don't invent customers.
The month tiles
The twelve squares you'll see on this site are our own graphic, standing for the one question we ask. Where one is marked, it's an illustration, not your renewal month — unless you're looking at the form, where it's whichever one you picked.
Anything we've got wrong
If something on this site is inaccurate, misleading or out of date, tell us at hello@coverahead.com and we'll fix it. That includes anything said in our name by someone else.
